Missed NORTH SEA traps - Or how AVO can be beaten by non-linear techniques. |
|
I do not argue with AVO theory - I just say nature makes it irrelevant, and that those who ignore the truths I talk about inside this series are hiding their heads in the sand. I expand on this inside under "AVO fallacies & tuning. Also you might look there for the PowerPoint shows on seismic integration if you are interested in stratigraphy & lithology. For

| Effective non-linear seismic
inversion as the best tool for North sea hydrocarbon spotting, Coherent noise, wavelet development,
seismic
tuning (and its effect on AVO), interpretation fallacies & non-linear inversion
are topics covered
inside. To fully understand one subject, one
must be familiar with the others. Seismic results depend on an intricate set of
intertwined factors, and I do my best to integrate them. The main thrust
is my non-linear seismic inversion. I use many PowerPoint
shows to illustrate my points with multiple "before and after"
examples.
For many visitors the discussions cover more than they want to know, but I say it is not more than they should know, if they are going to represent themselves as seismic interpreters, or even if they just depend on seismic for locating prospects. While the point of the series is to get people interested in my non-linear logic, the material is largely educational, and it applies to all processing theory. Be prepared to spend more than a few minutes. I can assure you that you will be exposed to concepts you hadn't thought much about before. If not, send me a sarcastic email to get me out of this conception. |
